Baseball Recap: Jacksonville Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After losing to Havelock the last time they met, Jacksonville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Rams 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted against the Rams since May 13, 2021.

Vasco Sutton made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Sutton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maguire Lewis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
