El Capitan extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Diego Ultreras. The El Capitan Gauchos enjoyed a cozy 57-42 win over the Burbank Titans on Tuesday for which the team can thank Ultreras, who went 11-for-18 en route to 30 points and six rebounds. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points.
Burbank lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Michael Butcher, who went 7-for-13 on his way to 17 points along with five boards and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Cedric Sydnor was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to 11 rebounds and four blocks.
El Capitan's victory bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Burbank, they moved to 23-9 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
Coming up, El Capitan will square off against Christian Brothers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. El Capitan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Christian Brothers likes a good challenge. Burbank does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
