After a string of three wins, First Baptist Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westside Christian Academy Eagles. The Sabres were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 48-47.

Westside Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Calvin Cottenden, who went 12 of 16 en route to 28 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Cottenden is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JR Kohl, who posted seven points and three steals.

First Baptist Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Westside Christian Academy, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Baptist Christian has already played their next contest (against Christian Community), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Westside Christian Academy has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Fuchs Mizrachi.
