Baseball Recap: Cedaredge's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Cedaredge dropped their record down to 15-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Ignacio Bobcats by a score of 7-6. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.

Dane Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Makai Salazar, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

As for Ignacio, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games.

On Ignacio's side, Cole W made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. W was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

W wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joesph A, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Cedaredge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-1 win against Meeker on the 3rd. As for Ignacio, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-4 victory against Sanford on the 3rd.
