Football Game Preview: Kellyville Ponies vs. Newkirk Tigers + Official Tickets

The Kellyville Ponies will venture away from home to face off against the Newkirk Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Kellyville took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Alva 33-12. The result was nothing new for the Ponies, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Jeremy Anderson was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Jackson Hessman was another key player, rushing for 83 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kellyville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 292 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alva only rushed for 93.

Meanwhile, Newkirk slipped by Meeker 33-32 on Friday.

Kellyville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Newkirk, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
