Watertown had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 37-point drubbing they dealt Community on Friday. The Purple Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Vikings/Viqueens 37-0. The win continues a trend for the Purple Tigers in their matchups with the Vikings/Viqueens: they've now won five in a row.

Watertown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Garrett Davis, who rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 70 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Those 108 rushing yards gave Davis a new career-high. Watertown's leading receiver Carmello Davis was Garrett's top target yet again, picking up 42 receiving yards and two scores, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Watertown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Watertown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Davis and Dacio Carter. Will Burns, Iv was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles.

Watertown's record now sits at 4-2. As for Community, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Watertown will challenge Sequatchie County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Community, they will square off against Forrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings/Viqueens will need to watch out since the Rockets have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
