Preview: Greenwood Eagles vs. Berea Bulldogs
The Greenwood Eagles will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Berea Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Greenwood faced Pickens in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Greenwood fell just short of Pickens by a score of 38-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Greenwood has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, Berea's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 68-27 loss at the hands of Westside. That's two games in a row now that Berea has lost by exactly 41 points.
Greenwood's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-1. As for Berea, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Greenwood strolled past Berea in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 49-35. Will Greenwood repeat their success, or does Berea have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
