Baseball Recap: Marion Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Marion had taken Council Grove down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Warriors took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Marion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lander Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was Smith's first of the season.

Marion's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3. As for Council Grove, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Braves beat Marion by a score of 23-5 later that day.
