Football Recap: DeLand Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact DeLand can now relate to. They fell 14-7 to the Mandarin Mustangs on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The critical scores for Mandarin came from Justice Almon and Bridget Martinez.

DeLand's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Mandarin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

DeLand does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mandarin, they will head out on the road to take on Apopka at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Darters will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
