Baseball Game Preview: Lena-Winslow Panthers vs. Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen

Lena-Winslow is 7-2 against Durand/Pecatonica since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will welcome the Rivermen at 4:30 p.m. Lena-Winslow is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Lena-Winslow was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against West Carroll on Friday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Thunder. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Luke Madigan was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had over his last 12 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Cox, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Lena-Winslow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Carroll only posted an OBP of .286.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Durand/Pecatonica was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 16-1 to Dakota.

Durand/Pecatonica has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Lena-Winslow, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6-1.

Lena-Winslow might still be hurting after the 14-7 defeat they got from Durand/Pecatonica in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
