Basketball Recap: Covenant School of Jacksonville Wins Going Away Against Indian Rocks Christian

Covenant School of Jacksonville picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 win over the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles.

It was another big night for Taryn Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Those 21 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charis O'Dell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists.

Covenant School of Jacksonville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Indian Rocks Christian still got an impressive performance from Malia Stevens, who posted 17 points.

Covenant School of Jacksonville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant School of Jacksonville will head out to face off against Global Outreach Charter Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop McLaughlin Catholic has five straight victories, Indian Rocks Christian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
