Softball Recap: Foster Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Foster waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Alief Elsik Rams 17-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2022.

Lizzy Yeager looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordan Tosch, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Aliyah Hernandez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Foster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .875. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Foster pushed their record up to 11-6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Alief Elsik, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

The future could be bright for both Foster and Alief Elsik: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Foster will try to hand Alief Taylor their third-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Alief Elsik will look to extend George Ranch's three-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
