Basketball Recap: Darlington Takes a Loss

Darlington lost against Heard County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Darlington Tigers lost 59-39 to the Heard County Braves. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Braves are ranked 50th).

Darlington has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Heard County, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Darlington Tigers challenge the Christian Heritage Lions at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Heard County, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Temple at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Heard County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.
