Recap: Wilcox Chargers vs. Los Gatos Wildcats
It was a good run, but The Wilcox Chargers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Los Gatos by a score of 24-21. Despite 127 more yards than Los Gatos, Wilcox couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Wilcox's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elijah Walker, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown. Tyson Bonilla was another key contributor, rushing for 91 yards.
Los Gatos can attribute much of their success to Boxer Kopcsak-Yeung, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Wilcox's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Los Gatos, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilcox will take on Santa Clara at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Santa Clara is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Los Gatos, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Menlo-Atherton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Menlo-Atherton will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
