Volleyball Recap: Pasadena Eagles vs. Crosby Cougars

Pasadena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell just short of the Crosby Cougars by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September.

Pasadena actually scored more points across those five sets (107-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-19, 24-26, 26-24, 15-13.

Even though they lost, Pasadena was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Crosby found their leader in underclassman Iyanna Saenz, who had 21 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Mccullough, who had ten digs.

Pasadena's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Crosby, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-20 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pasadena will head out to square off against Dayton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. After both having extra time off, Crosby and West Fork will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. West Fork will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Crosby surely won't give up without a fight.
