Soccer Recap: Mineola Comes Up Short

Mineola and Cumberland Academy pushed the score to 6-2 the last time they played Cumberland Academy, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Knights by a score of 1-0. That makes it the first time this season Mineola have let down their home crowd.

Mineola's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Cumberland Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mineola is set to face off against their familiar foe Lindale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cumberland Academy will challenge rival Chapel Hill at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
