Conant is 0-5 against Hampshire since March of 2019 but things could change on Saturday. The Cougars will face off against the Whip-Purs at 10:00 a.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Conant's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Rolling Meadows by a score of 3-0. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Alex Martinez, who gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks to keep Rolling Meadows off the board. Martinez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Conant is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 9-13-1 otherwise.
At the plate, Conant saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arjun Patel, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Conant hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hampshire came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Rockets 7-0. Considering the Whip-Purs have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Wilson Wemhoff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Conant's record is now 12-14-1. As for Hampshire, their record now sits at 22-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Conant has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hampshire struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Conant suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Hampshire when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
