Baseball Game Preview: Urban Blues vs. Lick-Wilmerding Tigers

For the second straight game, Urban will face off against Lick-Wilmerding. The Blues will be playing at home against the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Urban is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Urban and Lick-Wilmerding, and Lick-Wilmerding kept the tradition alive. The Blues fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday.

For Lick-Wilmerding's part, Braden Pollock and Kian Perrone did most of the damage at the plate: Pollock scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Perrone scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Pollock has posted since back in March of 2024.

Lick-Wilmerding was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Urban's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Lick-Wilmerding, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5.
