League recap: Rosamond, Desert tied at the top

High Desert league recap: 3/20/13

First place in the standings of High Desert is up for grabs this week, as Desert sits tied atop the standings with Rosamond.

Corey Mixon was the top pitcher in the league this week, leading Kern Valley. He struck out eight batters this week.

Frazier Mountain's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only six hits and four walks, both of which led the league.

Even after stealing 15 bases to lead the league over the past week, the Falcons are still looking up at the Broncs, which ranks No. 1 in steals, with 24 on the year.

Seven batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Leonard Grimes, who hit .571 this week (4-for-7).

Alex Oman led the league with six hits this week for Frazier Mountain. On the season, he's hitting .423 and ranks third in the league with 11 hits.



Josh Regan threw a shutout as he led the Falcons to victory over Kennedy, 10-0, on Saturday. He pitched six scoreless innings and struck out 11, while giving up four hits.

Robbie Stowell drove in four runners on Saturday in Frazier Mountain's 10-0 victory over Arvin. He went 1-for-3 and scored one run.
