League recap: McCormick overpowering for Mitchell in past week

6A District 10 league recap: 3/20/13

Christopher Mccormick was the best pitcher in 6A District 10 this week, leading Mitchell. Over the past week, he racked up one win and nine strikeouts.

Cobi Johnson was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .438 average with seven RBIs. The Mustangs compiled a record of 3-1 in that time.

Land O'Lakes's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing six hits and two walks to lead the league in both categories.

There were 16 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. They were led by Zachary Whitaker, who hit .800 this week (4-for-5).

Mitchell's Marcus Begg finished his week with eight hits, the best slugger in the league. He is second in the league with 18 hits this year, and has a .409 batting average.



Kyle Sheffield was an RBI machine on Friday, as he knocked in four runs during the Gators' 14-4 win over the Mustangs. He went 2-for-3 and scored zero runs.
