Basketball Preview: Nation Ford Falcons vs. Spring Valley Vikings

Nation Ford has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Spring Valley Vikings at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Even though Nation Ford has not done well against the Bearcats recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Nation Ford came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 63-53.

Caden Giles was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on nine points, 11 rebounds, and 12 blocks. Jackson Burnham was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.

Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Spring Valley had to settle for a 65-62 defeat against the Yellow Jackets on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), Spring Valley still had to take the loss.

Nation Ford pushed their record up to 12-11 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Spring Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Nation Ford strolled past the Vikings in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 73-57. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Spring Valley's Joshua Nelson, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Nation Ford still be able to contain Nelson? There's only one way to find out.
