Thomas Nelson extends home losing streak to three

Recap: Thomas Nelson Generals vs. Bluegrass United Bluehawks

The Thomas Nelson Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell to Bluegrass United 74-70. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Bluegrass United's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Burnett, who scored 26 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Stiefel, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Thomas Nelson's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Bluegrass United, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomas Nelson will face off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bluegrass United will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st.
