Basketball Game Preview: Camelback Spartans vs. Cibola Raiders

The Camelback Spartans are taking a road trip to square off against the Cibola Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Camelback is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Back in December of 2024, Camelback ended up a good deal behind Apollo and lost 68-54. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Hawks are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Cibola came up short against Providence on Thursday and fell 58-51.

Cibola has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Camelback, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Camelback was taken down by Cibola 78-30 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Camelback, Jared Arias (who made all 7 shots he took for 16 points along with five assists and four steals) won't be suiting up this time.
