Baseball Game Preview: Del Norte Knights vs. Valley Vikings

Del Norte hasn't had much luck against Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Knights will challenge the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Del Norte has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Del Norte came up short against Albuquerque Academy on Tuesday, falling 19-1.

Del Norte saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Rodriquez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Albuquerque Academy hit Valley with a five-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The Vikings have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Del Norte, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Del Norte suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
