Softball Recap: Davis Sr. Takes a Loss

Davis Sr. suffered their closest defeat since April 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Folsom Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Davis Sr. got a good showing from Lalya Duarte, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Duarte has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Davis Sr. saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Yao, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Davis Sr. has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Folsom, they moved to 8-6-2 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Davis Sr. had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
