Softball Game Preview: Emmett Huskies vs. Nampa Bulldogs

The Emmett Huskies will challenge the Nampa Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Emmett lost 17-1 to Bishop Kelly on Thursday. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Nampa faced Vallivue in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Falcons, falling 14-2. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Nampa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Graham, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Nampa has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season. As for Emmett, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Emmett has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Nampa struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
