Softball Recap: Upper Dublin Triumphs

While Upper Dublin's win against Abington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Galloping Ghosts on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted since April 4th.

Kyla Garrison was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Upper Dublin and bumps their season record up to 10-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Abington, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Coming up, Upper Dublin will square off against Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Abington, they have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Cheltenham on the 2nd.
