Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Montgomery

Montgomery took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against San Ysidro, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Aztecs won by a set and slipped past the Cougars 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Aztecs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Montgomery who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 10-25, 25-20, 22-25, 15-12.

The win got Montgomery back to even at 14-14. As for San Ysidro, with the loss, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 15-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Montgomery is set to face off against their familiar foe Chula Vista at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, San Ysidro will take on rival Castle Park at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
