Baseball Recap: Colony Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Colony entered their tilt with Los Altos on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Conquerors by a score of 5-1.

Steven Gonzales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anthony Garcia and Ricardo Zazueta did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Zazueta went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Zazueta has posted since back in February. Adrian Sifuentes also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Colony hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Los Altos struck out 11 times.

Colony's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Los Altos, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season.

Colony has already played their next match, a 15-0 victory against Alta Loma on the 4th. As for Los Altos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against South Hills on the 4th.
