Basketball Game Preview: Hardin Northern Polar Bears vs. Riverdale Falcons

Having just played yesterday, the Hardin Northern Polar Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Riverdale Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, 2025 welcomed Hardin Northern with a 52-30 loss courtesy of Lehman Catholic. The Polar Bears have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Riverdale got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They enjoyed a cozy 60-46 victory over Elmwood on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Riverdale is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Hardin Northern, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Hardin Northern came up short against Riverdale in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 45-39. Can Hardin Northern avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
