Basketball Recap: Freedom's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Freedom had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 75-68 win over the South Caldwell Spartans. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Spartans two weeks ago, they had to take a 86-65 loss.

Freedom's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kobe Johnson led the charge by putting up 14 points and seven boards. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 60% in the last six games he's played. King Johnson was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 13 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Freedom smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.

Freedom's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for South Caldwell, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.

Freedom wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-77 win against Watauga on the 21st. As for South Caldwell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-75 victory against Southwest Guilford on the 25th.
