Brandon played in-conference for the first time on Wednesday and got just the result they were looking for. They won by a run and slipped past the Clio Mustangs 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blackhawks have posted since May 12, 2025.

Devin Persinger and Bryce Bone did most of the damage at the plate: Persinger got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Bone got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Dove, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

The victory got Brandon back to even at 5-5. As for Clio, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Brandon and Clio could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Blackhawks will take on Owosso at 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (372 vs. 61). Meanwhile, Clio (ranked 237th) will meet Lake Fenton (ranked 105th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
