Baseball Game Preview: Norristown Eagles vs. Bensalem Fighting Owls

Norristown hasn't had much luck against Bensalem recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Norristown will face off against Bensalem at 11:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Norristown fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Upper Merion Area on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-4. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Vikings since on Friday.

John Angelo Salamone made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Gavin Walker was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bensalem lost 13-2 to Neshaminy on Wednesday.

Bensalem saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Strazz, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

This is the second loss in a row for Norristown and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Bensalem, their record now sits at 1-1.

Norristown couldn't quite get it done against Bensalem in their previous matchup back in March of 2018 as they fell 6-2. Can Norristown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
