Basketball Recap: Kenesaw Blue Devils vs. Silver Lake Mustangs
The Kenesaw Blue Devils were the 36-32 winner over the Silver Lake Mustangs when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Kenesaw was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 31-30 to the Mustangs. Kenesaw has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kenesaw's loss came despite strong showings from Ashlyn Katzberg and Sophia Schukei. Katzberg scored five points, while Schukei scored eight points.
Silver Lake found their leader in underclassman Makenna Karr, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Katy Soucek, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Kenesaw now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Silver Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenesaw will take on the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Silver Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shelton is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
