On Friday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the court. JSerra Catholic took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Santa Margarita. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Verbum Dei Jesuit pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.6 points. As for JSerra Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.
