Basketball Game Preview: Fallsburg Comets vs. Port Jervis Raiders

The Fallsburg Comets are taking a road trip to take on the Port Jervis Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fallsburg is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 103-29 loss at the hands of Spackenkill.

Meanwhile, Port Jervis was beaten by Saugerties 71-42 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Sawyers are ranked 131st).

Fallsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Port Jervis, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Fallsburg came up short against Port Jervis in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, falling 56-51. Can Fallsburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
