Volleyball Recap: Washington's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It's playoff time, and Washington had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a set and slipped past the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Huskies, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Washington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 26-28, 25-15, 25-22, 17-15.

Leading Washington to victory were Kevin Hsieh and Ethan White. Hsieh hit 100% for six kills and 14 digs, four aces, and two blocks, while White had 23 digs, 19 kills, three aces, and one block. Those 23 digs gave White a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Washington was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Washington's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-10. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Washington will square off against St. Joseph Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clayton Valley Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
