Basketball Game Preview: Peabody Warhorses vs. Grant Cougars

The Peabody Warhorses will head out to take on the Grant Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Peabody is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Peabody might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 58-40 to Iowa, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Warhorses can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 19th).

Meanwhile, Grant was beaten by Tioga 51-18 on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Peabody's record is now 11-9. As for Grant, their record now sits at 3-14.

Peabody didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Grant in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 31-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Peabody since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
