Baseball Recap: Grace Davis Comes Up Short

Grace Davis's tournament run continued when they took on Orland on Thursday. The Spartans fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 5-4. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Logan Ariza made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Armando Villegas, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Grace Davis' defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Orland, they moved to 11-11 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Davis will venture away from home to challenge Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orland, they will head out to face off against Gridley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
