Soccer Game Preview: St. James Academy vs. Bishop Miege

The St. James Academy Thunder will take on the Bishop Miege Stags at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. James Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

If St. James Academy beats Bishop Miege with four goals on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Thunder walked away with a 4-2 win over Blue Valley on Tuesday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering St. James Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while Blue Valley are ranked 32nd).

St. James Academy hit Blue Valley with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kambree Duker, Georgia Goodwin, Avery Rasmussen, and Alexa Aylward.

Meanwhile, Bishop Miege didn't have quite enough to beat St. Pius X on Wednesday and fell 3-2. That's two games in a row now that Bishop Miege have lost by just one goal.

St. James Academy pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Bishop Miege, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

St. James Academy skirted past Bishop Miege 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Stags have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
