Softball Game Preview: Sahuaro Cougars vs. Walden Grove Red Wolves

Sahuaro has gone a perfect 4-0 against Walden Grove recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Sahuaro will challenge Walden Grove at 4:00 p.m. Sahuaro is looking for their season's first win.

Sahuaro is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 19-3 to Tanque Verde on Tuesday.

Sahuaro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaydence Cox, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Cox a new career-high. Julyssa Canfield also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Walden Grove came up short against Salpointe Catholic on Thursday, falling 10-4.

Walden Grove has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. Sahuaro's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Sahuaro took their victory against Walden Grove when the teams last played back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 21-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sahuaro since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
