Simon Kenton entered their tilt with Newport Central Catholic on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Thoroughbreds. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pioneers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

Brett Bockmon was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Adrian Ortiz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Simon Kenton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newport Central Catholic only posted a batting average of .259.

Simon Kenton's victory bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Newport Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simon Kenton will face off against Covington Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newport Central Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Highlands at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
