Recap: Fort Collins Lambkins vs. Monarch Coyotes

The Fort Collins Lambkins entered their tilt with the Monarch Coyotes with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Fort Collins took down Monarch 86-69 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jayce King continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 41 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Fort Collins' points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Folkestad, who scored 16 points.
Despite the loss, Monarch still got an impressive performance from Logan Laverty, who scored 20 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Van Nellessen, who scored nine points along with three blocks.
Fort Collins has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Monarch, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Collins will take on Loveland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Loveland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Monarch, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Horizon at 6:30 p.m. Horizon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Monarch likes a good challenge.
