The Golden Demons will head out to take on the Lewis-Palmer Rangers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Golden had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Thomas Jefferson on Wednesday. The Demons were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Spartans. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Taden Svendsen looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Luca Casali was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Brody McBroom also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Golden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .607. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Lewis-Palmer won against Palmer Ridge on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Rangers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bears an 11-0 shutout. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Rangers this season.
Hunter Morgan was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Daniel Fox, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Lewis-Palmer's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.6 runs this season. As for Golden, their record is now 8-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Golden has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lewis-Palmer struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Golden was able to grind out a solid win over Lewis-Palmer in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Demons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
