Genoa Area extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-10 in the process. They lost 19-7 to the Oak Harbor Rockets. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 2, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Emersen Bickel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Kylie Pennington also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

As for Oak Harbor, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

On Oak Harbor's side, Morgan Lalonde was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Lalonde has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Tatum Baumgartner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hannah Schimmoeller, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
