The Benjamin Buccaneers will head out to take on the Montverde Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Benjamin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Benjamin came up short against Schoolhouse Prep and fell 9-6.

Drew Buchanan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Johnny Havlicek, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Montverde Academy came tearing into Thursday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Highlanders 6-4.

Ming-Han Kuo looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Danati Fronduto, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Jovansky Velez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Montverde Academy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Benjamin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8.

Benjamin couldn't quite get it done against Montverde Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 as they fell 7-2. Can Benjamin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
