Anzar will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Crystal Springs Uplands extended their winning streak to four last Saturday. The Gryphons blew past Trinity Christian 60-18. With the Gryphons ahead 24-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

A big part of Crystal Springs Uplands' win came down to the chemistry between Jimmy Naylor and his top target Rikhav Shah. Naylor rushed for 128 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries while Shah gained 127 total yards and five touchdowns. Naylor is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Nick Loew also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Crystal Springs Uplands didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Arjun Kurani, Shah, and Naylor picked up one apiece. Naylor got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Anzar took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 44-12 victory over Hillbrook.

Crystal Springs Uplands' win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Anzar, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything came up roses for Crystal Springs Uplands against Anzar in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 32-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gryphons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
