Basketball Recap: Lamar County Comes Up Short

Lamar County kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Spencer Greenwave 69-33. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Spencer found their leader in freshman Javien Gaither, who posted ten points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Monyee Gaither, who scored 11 points.

Lamar County and Spencer will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Trojans see the court they'll take on Twiggs County at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Spencer, their break will end when they face Harris County at 7:30 p.m. on December 5.
