Foran faced East Haven in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Yellowjackets a 10-0 shutout. The Lions' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Not much got past Abigail Corris, who gave up just two hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep East Haven off the board. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Corris.

On the hitting side, Foran saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Norah Bove, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Nyla Jaser, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Foran kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Foran pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 7.9 runs thus far. As for East Haven, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foran will challenge Sacred Heart Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for East Haven, they will host Shelton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
