Basketball Recap: Dayton Comes Up Short

The Dayton Greendevils lost 53-27 to the Mercer County Titans on Saturday. The match marked the Greendevils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mercer County was led to victory by Izzie Carlton and Cardin Sickles. Carlton almost dropped a triple-double with 18 points, nine boards, and ten blocks, while Sickles dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Sickles has become a key player for Mercer County: the team is undefeated when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 3-16 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddi Baker, who posted six points and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Dayton and nudges their season record down to 8-13. As for Mercer County, their record now sits at 8-16.

Dayton has already played their next contest (against Williamstown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mercer County, they have already played their next match, a 69-14 loss against Anderson County on the 10th.
